Imagine opening your eyes in the morning to a clear new day.
This can be possible with LASIK. New York Area LASIK surgery patients
continue to discover the freedom that comes laser vision correction.
We will personally evaluate you and answer any questions you may have
about your procedure. During your initial free consultation, we will
explain the options you have with regard to your eye care needs.
Corneal maps and thickness measurements will be taken. If you are an
appropriate candidate for LASIK, you will be told as much. If you are
not a good candidate for LASIK surgery, alternative forms of treatment
will be suggested.
LASIK is a surgical procedure and should not be undertaken lightly. If
we are not comfortable with your understanding of the procedure or
clinical condition, we will not perform the LASIK surgery. There are
no high-pressure sales tactics. You are given the opportunity to come
in, get all of your questions answered, and then, if you so desire, go
home and think about your decision.
Once you decide to have LASIK, our experienced staff will ease you
through the surgical process. Our surgical coordinator will provide
you with a folder with all the information you will need including
preoperative, postoperative, and surgery times. All of your
postoperative medications will be provided to you at the time of
surgery at no extra charge. During the procedure, there will always be
a staff member by your side to comfort you. After your procedure, we
will personally examine you and provide instructions on how to care
for your eyes. We encourage postoperative visits, even if it is only
for reassurance. One year of follow up care is included as part of
your surgery.

The Procedure
LASIK is usually performed under local anesthesia as an outpatient procedure.
First, the eyes are numbed with anesthetic drops. Then an excimer laser is then
used to sculpt the corneal tissue, reshaping the eye for better vision. Most patients
experience clearer vision by the day following surgery and are able to return to their
normal activities soon after having LASIK.
LASIK and You
Not everyone is a good candidate for LASIK surgery, but most of our patients
are able to have the surgery with excellent results. We will be happy to provide
additional information, as well as answer any questions you may have. We offer personal
attention, the best technology, and the latest surgical techniques. We know you care about
your vision, and we care, too.
